I’ve had this image idea for a long time, but only recently brought it to life as a 3D modeled scene. Not a lot to say about it.
The only technical bits were using a single spotlight exclusively on each object, with a rainbow colored gel in front of the main spot and colored spotlights on each seed. And of course one of those exquisite Hubble Space Telescope Institute photos for the background (self-illuminated, of course).

Hi there! I just wanted to say first, that I love this art piece. It’s really inspired and unique and effective.
I’m interested in using this image for the cover of an e-book I am working on for my website:

…exploring the role of the modern dreamer. I should say up front I have but a ‘starving artist’s’ budget for this. Keeping that in mind, I would be so grateful if you could quote me a price at:

Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece!
On on!

Thanks for your kind words Tai. I’ll email you.
Good Afternoon Mr. Coe,
I have a somewhat unique and difficult to describe neuro-chemical/visual/emotional anomaly that I experience, ( probably a form of synesthesia ) ), that makes me highly sensitive to certain spectral color and texture combinations. I hunt through Google Images and similar search engines from time to time to “refuel” the stored imagery in my head. I know that must seem like an odd explanation. I came across this image of “Star Seed” by complete happenstance , and just wanted to tell you that I think it is most excellent. Thank You, -Kyle
Thanks Kyle – That’s really very interesting. That image uses a texture which is a whole spectrum of the human visible colors.
